Wyatt Grant is an artist and designer who recently moved to Asheville from Chicago, IL. After attending SAIC, he's gradually built a one-person art and design studio producing everything from murals and posters to logos and album covers. He has a vested interest in maintaining a traditional art practice alongside his collaborations with businesses and brands.
"In making art, I tend to move between painting, print and sculpture pretty fluidly, but it's all rooted in drawing with a ballpoint pen. I'm really influenced by Scandinavian patterns because of their accessibility and depth, but also painters like David Hockney, Matisse, and Alexander Girard, whose work is very graphically charged and pattern-based. Embracing the connection between my art practice and everyday life is very important to me, especially given our natural surroundings here in Asheville."
